How does 77 billion euros sound?

Inline Image

Most of us will get a small share of that money as old age pensioners in the future. However some of us might also be lucky and get to manage a little bit larger shares of it for one of the large LP investors that will be attending the event. Among the LPs that are already registered are Danish ATP, one of Europe’s largest pension funds with value of investments exceeding 50 billion Euros. Another is LGT Capital Partners, who manages investments at a value of over 15 billion euro. Also represented at the Cleantech Capital Day is the European Investment Fund . They manage over 1 billion Euros especially targeted at risk financing for innovation and entrepreneurship. Generation Investment Management is a different type of investor. Realizing that investments that are not environmentally and socially sustainable are not good business the fund focus on the core values of sustainable development. Also registered to the event is the Swedish 7th public pension fund, which manages investments at a value of 11 billion Euros.

Presenting companies

There will be two dealflow sessions during the 14th of April with several interesting companies. Two new are just in:

Swedish Lamera, is a spinoff company of Volvo technology. The company manufactures a brand new material called Hybrix that combines the unique properties of stainless steel with reduced weight. This new material can be used in many different applications but currently the focus is on three areas where performance and low weight is highly valued: aircraft interior design, automotive industry and exclusive consumer goods products.

Norwegian company Weyland has developed a unique technology that makes it possible to produce bio-ethanol from cellulose-containing materials, which is not suitable for food, so called second-generation bioethanol. Compared to alternative cellulosic processes, the Weyland method has proven superior in regards to flexibility, scalability, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and in being environmentally friendly.

There is big interest, both from investors and cleantech companies, to attend the individual meetings session in the morning of  April 14th. We will now organize who will meet who as each investor or cleantech company will be asked to list their preferences. We will do a first round of optimizing choices next week. In other words: register to the event as soon as possible to participate in the individual deal-flow session.
